I am a huge fan of Glee, maybe it is my past life in chorus or the fact that I was probably the only person who listened to the Broadway music station on Sirius but after each episode I just have a smile on my face. Last night’s Furt episode was no exception as it combined music and weddings two of my favorite things.
The Sue Sylvester character decided that her one and only, was well, her one and only and was going to marry herself, and referred to her wedding as a Red Letter Day. Hmm… have the Glee writers been reading Red Letter Event Planning‘s marketing materials?
There were two other characters that decided to tie the knot-and Kurt the openly gay character with fabulous taste was their wedding planner (as the groom was his Dad)-the colors of Russett and Cognac were in his words (and I agree) the perfect fall palette.
The episode also included a choregraphed walk down the aisle that was inspired by this couple a year ago. Though I have not had a wedding where there was aisle choreography ( I cannot even imagine how long THAT rehearsal would be), one trend that was in the Glee wedding has really taken off and that is choreographing your first dance.
At the Kenilworth Club Bridal Fair this past month we welcomed to the stage Xixi from Chicago Wedding Dance and she gave us this amazing demo.
Many shows do “weddings” however Glee incorporated pop culture, trends and style to the delight of this wedding planner not to mention they know every wedding should be a “Red Letter Day”.
Till next time in the words of Coach Sue Sylvester-I hope your next special event is a Red Letter Day
