Where is the Inland Northwest and other questions about wedding planning

IT IS INQUIRY SEASON AND THERE ARE QUITE A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT GETTING MARRIED IN THE BEAUTIFUL INLAND NORTHWEST.

Where is the Inland Northwest?

The definition of the “Inland Northwest” according to Wikipedia “is a region of the Pacific Northwest centered on the Greater Spokane Area that includes all of Eastern Washington and North Idaho”. For purposes of wedding planning, this means weddings in Washington that are usually in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Liberty Lake or the Green Bluff area. In Idaho this means Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Sandpoint, Kellogg, Hayden, Hayden Lake, Hope and many other towns too numerous to mention. In my mind the Inland Northwest is anywhere you can drive 3 hours one way for a wedding.

When is the best time to get married there?

Let’s talk about seasons. The majority of the weddings we plan and design are outdoors, to take advantage of the beautiful scenery of evergreens, lakes and mountains.  The outdoor wedding season is usually from Memorial Day until the first or second week of September.  That is not to say weddings are not held indoors during other months, there are many beautiful indoor wedding venues and we have planned many weddings indoors as well. And a winter wedding among the snow is spectacular! If you are planning a summer wedding though planning needs to start at least a year in advance as wedding professionals book up fast for those few summer weeks!

Do you work with out of town clients?

Yes, most of our clients are from out of town and are coming here to plan a destination wedding.  This year alone, we have clients in London, Arizona, Oregon and California. We are very comfortable working with clients over Skype/Facetime for most of the planning and then doing on-site planning when they are in town. We also love working with local couples as well, it is fun to have meetings in person over a cup of coffee or glass of wine! Either way the communication and planning process is seamless whether you live 20 or 2000 miles away.

Do you plan weddings of all sizes and budgets?

Yes, we have weddings this year that range from 60 to over 200 people. All of our clients are working with a budget and it is our goal to understand your priorities and to make sure they are met first and foremost.

What kinds of relationships do you have with other vendors in the area?

There are so many wonderful and talented vendors in the area. When matching vendors to clients, we make sure that not only are they in budget for the client but that they are a good fit personality and style wise for the wedding.  Typically 2-3 vendors in each category are recommended and most clients are matched with the right vendor very quickly.

What makes you unique from other wedding planners?

Simply put we are your planning partner, you are hiring us for guidance, expertise and on the ground support. We never forget that it is your wedding. The biggest compliment is when your guests walk into the wedding and say ” this is so (insert couple’s name)” then we know we have done our  job!

So who is this us?

Oh, maybe I should have started off the blog post explaining the “us” at Red Letter Event Planning .
